ASUS has started pushing the stable Android 16 update to the Zenfone 11 Ultra. The rollout began on December 26, 2025, with the firmware version 36.0210.1420.27. As with most over-the-air updates, it reaches devices in phases based on serial numbers. Some owners may need to wait a few days or longer before the notification appears.
Owners can check manually by going to Settings > System > System updates. ASUS advises backing up data first, since certain third-party apps might not work properly yet on the new version.

The upgrade brings the full set of Android 16 improvements, along with the December 2025 security patch. ASUS has made several tweaks to system behavior.

- Refined navigation options, where the predictive back animation now activates from a standard back swipe or by holding the back button.
- A new notification cooldown feature that reduces volume and minimizes repeated alerts arriving close together.
- A button to bypass the countdown timer when starting screen recordings.
- New entries in Settings under Security & Lock Screen for Theft Protection and Advanced Protection.
These changes aim to make daily use smoother while adding layers of security.
