iQOO Neo 9 Pro Rolls Out Stable Android 16 via OriginOS 6.0

iQOO has started pushing the stable OriginOS 6.0 update — built on Android 16 — to the Neo 9 Pro. The rollout began April 4, 2026, and is currently reaching a limited batch of users first.

Android 16 Is Here for the iQOO Neo 9 Pro

The iQOO Neo 9 Pro is now receiving its second major OS upgrade. The phone launched in 2024 on Android 14 with Funtouch OS 14. It moved to Android 15 last year. Now OriginOS 6.0, based on Android 16, is the next step.

iQOO started testing this update in November 2025 through a closed Trial program. That testing phase is over. The stable build is rolling out now.

Update Details: Version, Size, and How to Get It

The stable OriginOS 6.0 build carries software version PD2338BF_EX_A_16.2.6.11.W30. The update file is 4.15GB in size.

Before you install it:

  • Free up at least 6–8GB of storage
  • Charge your phone to at least 50%
  • Back up important data

Not seeing the update yet? You can request early access manually. Go to: Settings → About Phone → System Updates → Version Trial → Trial Version → Download and Install.

What’s New in OriginOS 6.0

According to YTECHB, the update brings a revamped user interface, smoother animations, AI Lightning, a redesigned media player, and enhanced lock screen customization. It also includes stock Android 16 features that ship natively with the OS.

The full changelog mirrors what Vivo pushed earlier for the X200 series — the first devices to receive this update.

Context: One of the First Mid-Range Phones on Android 16

This matters beyond just one phone. Android 16 stable builds on non-Pixel, non-flagship hardware are rare this early. The iQOO Neo 9 Pro joins the Vivo X200 series as one of the first devices outside Google’s own lineup to receive a confirmed stable Android 16 rollout.

One important distinction: OriginOS is a China-exclusive OS. If you own the iQOO Neo 9 Pro in India or another global market, your device runs Funtouch OS — not OriginOS. This specific update does not apply to you. Indian users should expect a separate Funtouch OS-based Android 16 update at a later date. iQOO has not announced that timeline yet.

What This Means for Buyers

If you’re in China with an iQOO Neo 9 Pro, go check for the update now. The rollout is staged, so not every device will get it on day one — but manual enrollment via the Trial program is available.

If you’re in India or the US, this update is not for your device. Indian users should watch for a Funtouch OS 16 announcement separately. US buyers should note that the iQOO Neo 9 Pro is not officially sold in the American market.

What’s Next

The iQOO Neo 9 Pro has now received two major Android upgrades since launch. The stable OriginOS 6.0 build is live and expanding. Watch for iQOO’s official communication on the Funtouch OS 16 rollout timeline for global and Indian users.
