The Luxury Immersion Cinema at ISE 2026 features a MicroLED wall paired with 14.8.8-channel audio.
A high-end home theater setup called the Luxury Immersion Cinema made its appearance at the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2026 event in Barcelona. Five companies joined forces for this demonstration: Ascendo Immersive Audio, Barco Residential, StormAudio, PrimeTheater, and Technology Integration Partners.
Video Display: Barco Residential Runar LED Wall
The centerpiece is Barco Residential’s Runar LED video wall. It uses MicroLED in Package (MIP) technology with a 0.9 mm pixel pitch. The display runs at native DCI 4K resolution (4,096 x 2,160 pixels). Key performance figures include:
- Contrast ratio of 100,000:1
- Black levels at 0.005 cd/m²
- Full DCI-P3 color coverage
- Brightness of 300 nits for DCI-grade HDR content (up to 500 nits for consumer HDR formats)
This setup supports both professional cinema formats and standard consumer HDR sources. The wall aims for DCI certification under current HDR standards, which matches the requirements used in commercial theaters.
Audio Setup: Ascendo 14.8.8-Channel System
Audio comes from an Ascendo immersive system with 14.8.8 channels, created specifically for LED video wall installations. The design places speakers around the display rather than behind it to keep front-channel sound positioned correctly from the viewer’s perspective. This helps maintain localization similar to traditional cinemas.
Components include:
- Six THE8 Pro Passive LED Wedge speakers for front channels
- Various THE10 Passive models (Wedge 30, On Wall, LED Phantom) for side, overhead, and rear positions
- Eight THE28 Sub Pro Squared subwoofers
- Eight A1A1-10K2 IS infrasonic amplifiers
StormAudio handles processing with its Elite 32 Analog system, which manages spatial mapping, calibration, and alignment between audio and video elements.
The approach focuses on point-source speakers for consistent performance across multiple seats. Direct-radiating designs deliver high output levels while addressing the challenges of sound placement with solid LED surfaces.

Purpose and Presentation
This collaboration shows how cinema-grade video and dedicated immersive audio can work together in a luxury residential space. The setup addresses common issues with LED walls in homes, such as maintaining proper audio imaging and depth. It serves as a reference demonstration for integrators, highlighting performance in a room built for both visuals and sound.
The project appeared at ISE 2026 stand 2J500, with limited demo sessions available during the show (February 3–6, 2026).
