Vivo has started rolling out the OriginOS 6 software update to the Vivo X90 and Vivo V40 Pro models. This major release brings the devices to Android 16 and follows the company’s planned schedule for older flagships and mid-range phones.
The update arrives first through a trial program. This step allows Vivo to test the build with a smaller group of users and address any issues before a wider release.
Update Details for Vivo X90
For the Vivo X90, the build carries the version PD224ICF_EX_A_16.3.6.6.W30. The package size stands at about 4.07GB.
Users in regions like India can check for it by going to Settings > About Phone > System updates > Version Trial > Trial version, then download and install if available. Make sure your device runs the latest prior version, has enough storage space, and at least 50% battery charge. Back up your data first.
Update Status for Vivo V40 Pro
The rollout has also begun for the Vivo V40 Pro, as confirmed by user reports and screenshots. Specific firmware details for this model remain limited at this stage, but the process mirrors the X90 approach via the trial channel.

What OriginOS 6 Brings
OriginOS 6 includes a range of system-wide refinements. Visual elements feature enhanced lighting, better blur effects, transparency layers, and a new system font for clearer text across languages.
Other additions cover a redesigned control center with separated notification and quick settings panels, lock screen widgets, and new clock options. The update improves performance with faster app starts, fluid animations, stronger multitasking support, and better battery use.
It also pulls in Android 16 elements, such as live updates and privacy tools.
This rollout marks the third major OS upgrade for the Vivo X90 series. Vivo now turns attention to remaining V-series and T-series devices, with plans to cover entry-level models by the end of March 2026.
The update aligns with Vivo’s earlier timeline shared in late 2025, which outlined phased delivery for devices from recent years.
