Samsung has started rolling out a new software update for the Galaxy S24 series. This release brings the January 2026 security patch to the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra.
Key Details of the Update
The update focuses only on security. It does not add any new features or user-facing changes. The patch addresses a total of 55 security vulnerabilities. These include:
- 23 fixes from Google’s Android security bulletin (two of which do not apply to Samsung devices)
- 4 fixes from Samsung Semiconductor
- 30 fixes from Samsung Mobile
Among the fixes, one is marked as critical, 28 as high-risk, and three as moderate-risk. Samsung applies these patches to protect devices from potential exploits in the Android OS, Exynos chips, and One UI components.
Rollout Information
The update began in South Korea. It comes with firmware version S92xNKSS4CZA1 and has a file size of about 404.35 MB. Users in other regions should expect it soon, as Samsung typically expands availability gradually.
To check for the update on your device:
- Go to Settings
- Select Software update

Restart your phone after installation to complete the process.

Why This Matters
