Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Detachable Leaks Before MWC 2026

Lenovo’s upcoming ThinkPad X13 Detachable has appeared in leaks just before its expected reveal at Mobile World Congress (Mwc) in Barcelona.

The device, referred to as the ThinkPad X13 Detachable Gen 1, marks a return for this detachable form factor in Lenovo’s lineup after a two-year gap since the earlier X12 model. Renders shared by Windows Latest show a design that combines ThinkPad traditions with a tablet-style setup similar to the Microsoft Surface Pro.

Design and Build Updates

The new model steps up to a 13-inch display, larger than the 12.3-inch screen on its predecessor. Bezels around the display are noticeably slimmer, giving the device a more modern appearance.

The tablet portion includes a built-in kickstand on the back for support in different viewing angles. The keyboard attaches magnetically and sits at a slight tilt when connected, rather than lying completely flat like some competing designs.

Ports include USB-C connectors on both sides for charging and data, along with a 3.5mm headphone jack and a Kensington lock slot. Four visible screws on the bottom suggest the chassis opens for easier repairs compared to many similar devices.

Classic ThinkPad elements remain in place, such as the TrackPoint pointing stick with its physical buttons above the touchpad. A circular fingerprint reader sits next to the touchpad, and there is a mechanical privacy shutter over the front camera. An infrared camera supports Windows Hello facial recognition.

The stylus, called the Lenovo Digital Pen, stores in a slot that takes up less space than before.

The color shown in the renders is Eclipse Black.

Performance and Other Details

Specific performance specs are not confirmed in the leaks, but reports point to Intel’s upcoming Panther Lake processors as a likely choice. The previous detachable model used Intel Core Ultra chips.

This positions the device as a business-oriented option, aimed at users who need a portable 2-in-1 with ThinkPad durability and features.

Expected Launch

Sources indicate Lenovo plans to announce the ThinkPad X13 Detachable at MWC 2026, running from March 2 to 5 in Barcelona. No official confirmation from Lenovo has appeared yet, so details could change.

The leaks come from reliable tech outlets like Windows Latest, which has shared accurate Lenovo information in the past.
