Nothing Phone (3a) Lite Now Gets Android 16 Update

The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite now receives the Nothing OS 4.0 update, built on Android 16.

Nothing has started pushing this major software upgrade to the budget model in its lineup. The rollout began recently, as confirmed in the company’s community forum. Users report receiving the update on devices like the standard 8GB RAM variant.

The download size comes in at about 1.03 GB. The build number mentioned in user shares and reports is B4.0-260116-1904. This marks the first major OS version jump for the Phone (3a) Lite, which shipped with Nothing OS 3.0.

Official word from Nothing’s community post states the update completes the Nothing OS 4.0 rollout across its devices, including both Nothing and CMF models.

New additions in this version focus on practical changes and user tools:

  • An AI usage dashboard that shows how AI features are used on the device.
  • More size choices for home screen widgets.
  • Two fresh clock styles for the lock screen.

Other reports point to additions like Playground features, camera improvements, and system tweaks for better daily use. The update brings visual updates such as redesigned icons and status bar adjustments, along with general stability fixes from Android 16.

The Phone (3a) Lite joins other models that got the update earlier, such as the Phone (3a), (3a) Pro, and older devices like Phone (2) series. Earlier plans had the Lite model slated for early 2026, and this rollout aligns with that window.

Owners should check their settings for the update notification. It often arrives in stages, so availability can vary by region or device batch.
