OLED monitors are gaining ground in the display market, with shipments showing strong increases in recent years.
Recent data points to clear growth. Global OLED monitor shipments reached about 3.2 million units in 2025. This marked a 64% rise from 1.95 million units in 2024, according to UBI Research.
Other reports align on the upward trend. TrendForce noted shipments hit 644,000 units in the third quarter of 2025 alone, up 65% from the same period the year before. They projected full-year 2025 shipments at around 2.62 million units, which would mean an 84% annual increase.
Panel makers have shifted focus toward monitors for better margins compared to TVs. This move supports continued expansion, with forecasts for over 50% growth in 2026.
Key Market Players in 2025
ASUS took the top spot in branded OLED monitor share during parts of 2025. In the third quarter, it held 21.9%, ahead of Samsung at 18%. MSI came in third with 14.4%, followed by LG Electronics at 12.9%.
ASUS’s range covers gaming models under ROG, ProArt displays for content creators, and even portable or foldable options. This variety helped build its position in mid- to high-end segments.
Why the Shift to OLED Monitors?
OLED panels deliver deep blacks, high contrast, and fast response times. These features appeal to gamers and professionals who need accurate colors and smooth motion.
While still a smaller part of the overall monitor market compared to LCD, OLED’s share in certain categories like high-refresh-rate gaming monitors has climbed. For example, around 9-12% of 144Hz gaming monitors shipped in 2025 used OLED panels.
The broader OLED display market continues to expand, driven by demand in consumer electronics. This includes monitors as a growing segment.
Outlook Ahead
Market analysts expect OLED monitors to keep rising as production scales and more models reach consumers. Panel suppliers like Samsung Display and LG Display are increasing output for IT applications.
This positions OLED as a serious option in the monitor space, moving beyond early adoption.
