Samsung Galaxy Phones Set to Gain Personalized Calling Card Customization

Google is preparing to address a key limitation in its Calling Card feature for Android, and this change should reach many Samsung Galaxy devices soon.

What is the Calling Card feature?

Google introduced Calling Cards last year. It lets users customize how incoming calls from contacts appear on their screen. You can add a full-screen photo, adjust font styles, and select colors to make calls from friends or family more personal.

Until now, the feature worked one way only. You could change how others appear when they call you, but not how your own call looks on someone else’s phone.

A new option fixes the gap

Recent beta versions of the Phone by Google app include a “My Calling Card” section. This allows you to create and customize your own card.

You select a photo from your gallery or Google Photos, tweak the font and color, and preview the result. You also choose visibility: show it only to your contacts or to everyone you call.

The card appears when you dial someone who has not customized your contact on their device. Note that images might crop differently based on the recipient’s screen size.

How it reaches Galaxy phones

Samsung Galaxy models often use the Phone by Google app as the default dialer. This means the update should apply through a simple app update, without needing a full One UI overhaul.

The feature is not yet in the stable app version. Its presence in beta signals a release in the near future for Android devices, including Samsung’s lineup.
