Vivo and its sub-brand iQOO have started pushing the OriginOS 6 software update to the Vivo V40e and iQOO Z9s models. This brings the devices to Android 16 with the company’s latest custom interface.
The rollout targets users enrolled in the trial program for early access. For the Vivo V40e, the update carries build number PD2406JF_EX_A_16.2.10.1.W20. The iQOO Z9s gets version PD2406F_EX_A_16.2.10.1.W30. This follows recent updates to the Vivo V40 and V40 Pro in the same series.
How to Check and Install
Owners can look for the update through these steps:
- Go to Settings.
- Select About Phone.
- Tap System updates.
- Choose Version Trial.
- Then select Trial version.
- Download and install if available.
The process works for both models right now, but availability depends on the trial program. Wider release may follow later.

What OriginOS 6 Offers
The update includes a refreshed user interface with smoother animations. It adds AI features for lighting adjustments, a redesigned media player, and better lock screen options for personalization. Android 16 base brings standard platform improvements too, such as better performance and security.
The changelog matches what Vivo has shared for similar devices in this update cycle. It focuses on visual changes and everyday usability.
Context in the Rollout
OriginOS 6 launched in late 2025, starting with flagship models like the Vivo X200 series and iQOO 13. It has reached mid-range and older devices over time. The V40 series and select iQOO Z models fall into this phase. Earlier devices like the Vivo V40 Pro and X90 also got it recently through trial channels.
This step keeps these phones current with the latest software from Vivo and iQOO.
