ESPN is on different channel numbers depending on where you live. Spectrum assigns channels by market, not by a single national number. That said, most Spectrum subscribers find ESPN somewhere between channel 28 and channel 39 in the lower tier, or at channel 300 in the HD lineup.
If you need the number fast, check the table below. If you’re not sure which plan you’re on — or why ESPN isn’t showing up — the rest of this guide covers that too. You can also check the full Spectrum TV channel list if you want to browse every network available on your plan.
ESPN Channel Numbers on Spectrum — Quick Answer by City
Channel numbers vary by city. ESPN is most commonly found on channel 28, 30, 33, 36, or 39 in standard tiers. Channel 300 serves as a near-universal HD fallback across many markets.

| City / Region | ESPN Channel |
|---|---|
| New York, NY (Manhattan) | 28 |
| Los Angeles, CA | 39 (HD) / 300 |
| Albany, NY | 24 |
| Buffalo, NY | 30 |
| Chicago, IL | 30 |
| Indianapolis, IN | 36 |
| Kansas City, MO | 33 |
| Milwaukee, WI | 30 |
| Louisville, KY | 31 |
| Lexington, KY | 28 |
| Cincinnati, OH | 30 |
| Cleveland, OH | 28 |
| Birmingham, AL | 20 |
| Montgomery, AL | 25 |
| Columbus, OH | 11 |
| Long Beach, CA | 35 |
| Bakersfield, CA | 26 |
| Reno, NV | 33 |
These numbers reflect current reported lineups as of March 2026. Spectrum adjusts them by ZIP code, so your address may differ by one or two digits.
The fastest way to confirm your channel: Visit spectrum.com/cable-tv/channel-lineup, enter your ZIP code, and search ESPN. It takes about 20 seconds.

ESPN2 Channel Numbers on Spectrum
ESPN2 typically sits one channel above ESPN in most markets. In Los Angeles that’s channel 40. In New York it’s usually channel 29. Use the same ZIP lookup tool at spectrum.com to confirm your local number. If you also follow NFL games across multiple channels, check the dedicated guide on what channel NFL Network is on Spectrum — it covers all NFL broadcast options in one place.
ESPNews Channel Numbers on Spectrum
ESPNews is on channel 302 in New York and Los Angeles, channel 105 in Bakersfield, and channel 405 in Reno. ESPNews availability depends on your plan — not all Spectrum packages include it. It comes with the Sports View add-on or TV Platinum.
Which Spectrum TV Plan Includes ESPN?
TV Select Signature — ESPN Included
TV Select Signature is Spectrum’s base English-language cable plan, starting at $100/mo. (regular rate $120/mo.) with 150+ channels. ESPN and ESPN2 are both included. If you’re on this plan, you have live ESPN access on cable right now.
All TV Select Signature customers also receive ESPN Unlimited at no extra cost — bundled alongside HBO Max, Hulu, Disney+, Paramount+ Essential, Peacock Premium, AMC+, FOX One, and ViX Premium.
TV Select Plus — Adds Regional Sports Networks
TV Select Plus runs $125/mo. and bumps the lineup to 160+ channels. It adds Regional Sports Networks (RSNs) and ESPN Unlimited. This is the plan to choose if you want to watch a local NBA, NHL, or MLB team on a regional feed alongside national ESPN programming. For NBA-specific channel details, see what channel NBA TV is on Spectrum.
TV Platinum — Includes Sports View at No Extra Cost
TV Platinum runs $160/mo. and includes everything in TV Select Plus, plus the Sports View add-on at no extra charge. It also adds the Entertainment+ pack — ad-free HBO Max, Paramount+ with Showtime, and STARZ.
Sports View Add-On — $10/Month
Sports View adds 16 sports channels for $10/mo. on TV Select Signature and TV Select Plus. It’s included free with TV Platinum. Adding it to TV Select Plus brings your total to $135/mo. Channels include NFL RedZone, MLB Strike Zone, Golf Channel, ESPNews, Fox Sports 2, and FanDuel TV. If you watch a lot of baseball, also check the guide on what channel MLB is on Spectrum for the full picture.

ESPN vs. ESPN+ vs. ESPN Unlimited on Spectrum — What’s the Difference?
These are three separate things. Confusing them is the most common reason people think they’re missing a channel they actually have.
ESPN (the cable channel) is the live sports network at your channel number. It airs NFL games, NBA, college football, SportsCenter, and major live events. It’s included in every Spectrum cable plan starting with TV Select Signature.
ESPN+ was Disney’s standalone streaming add-on — exclusive UFC fights, international soccer, college games, and 30 for 30 documentaries. It had no cable channel number. You accessed it through the ESPN app.
ESPN Unlimited is the 2026 evolution of that streaming experience, now bundled directly into Spectrum TV plans. It includes 30,000+ live events and 3,000+ hours of original content, activated through Spectrum.net and streamed through the ESPN app. It replaces the older standalone ESPN+ branding that Spectrum previously promoted separately. All TV Select Signature, Select Plus, and Platinum customers receive it at no extra cost.
Bottom line: To watch Monday Night Football or a live NBA game, go to your ESPN cable channel number. To stream a UFC prelim or an exclusive college game, open the ESPN app and use ESPN Unlimited.
How to Find ESPN on Spectrum Without Knowing the Channel Number
Use the Spectrum Voice Remote
Press the microphone button on your Spectrum voice remote or Xumo Stream Box and say “ESPN.” The system jumps directly to the channel. No number needed.
Use the Spectrum TV App
Download the Spectrum TV App on your phone, tablet, or smart TV. Search for ESPN by name. You can stream the live channel feed from any device on your home network — or away from home depending on your plan tier.
Use the Online Channel Lineup Tool
Log into your Spectrum account, select the Your Services tab, choose TV, then select View Channel Lineup. Search by channel name or filter by category. Type “ESPN” and your local channel number shows up immediately. The same tool works for any other network — use it to find what channel CBS Sports is on Spectrum or what channel Fox is on Spectrum while you’re there.
ESPN Not Showing on Spectrum? Try These Fixes
Confirm It’s in Your Plan
If ESPN is completely missing — not a frozen screen, but not in the guide at all — the most likely reason is that it isn’t in your current package. Log into your account at spectrum.com and check which plan you’re subscribed to. Every paid Spectrum cable plan includes ESPN, but entry-level internet-only or streaming-only options may not.
Refresh Your Channel Guide
Go to Menu → Settings → Guide Settings on your remote, or log into your Spectrum account online and send a refresh signal to your receiver. This clears most guide gaps within a few minutes.
Reboot Your Receiver
Unplug your Spectrum receiver from the wall outlet. Wait 60 seconds. Plug it back in and let it fully restart — this takes 2 to 3 minutes. A cold reboot clears the majority of signal and channel loading errors.
Call Spectrum Support
If ESPN is still missing after a refresh and reboot, call Spectrum at 1-833-267-6094. Give them your account number and describe what you see. They can push a remote signal to your box or flag a local outage in your area.

Other ESPN Channels Available on Spectrum
Beyond ESPN and ESPN2, Spectrum carries several other channels in the ESPN family depending on your plan and market:
ESPNU — College sports focus. Available with the Sports View add-on at $10/mo.
ESPNews — 24-hour sports news. Available with Sports View on TV Select Signature and Select Plus. Included free with TV Platinum.
ESPN Deportes — Spanish-language ESPN. Available through the Mi Plan Latino package and select bilingual add-ons.
ESPN Unlimited (streaming) — Included with all TV Select Signature, Select Plus, and Platinum plans. Access it through the ESPN app after activating at Spectrum.net.
If you watch other sports networks beyond ESPN, it’s worth checking what else is in your lineup. Related guides that may help: what channel TBS is on Spectrum, what channel TNT is on Spectrum, and what channel the SEC Network is on Spectrum.
Channel numbers and pricing are current as of March 2026. Spectrum adjusts lineups and plan pricing periodically. Always verify your local lineup at spectrum.com/cable-tv/channel-lineup.
