The Galaxy Z TriFold sold out fast in the US, and it came as no surprise.

Samsung launched its first triple-folding smartphone, the Galaxy Z TriFold, in the United States on January 30, 2026. Priced at $2,899 for the 512GB model, the device went on sale through Samsung’s official website and a handful of Samsung Experience Stores in states like New York, Texas, California, and Minnesota.

Within minutes of going live—some reports say as little as 20 minutes—the online stock ran out. Buyers who tried to place orders at launch time mostly saw “out of stock” messages, with restock notifications offered instead. Samsung has not shared exact sales figures or initial unit numbers for the US market.

This pattern matches what happened in other regions, such as South Korea, where the phone sold out quickly after its earlier release and required multiple restocks that also cleared fast.

The high price—about $900 more than the Galaxy Z Fold7—did not slow demand. No trade-in offers were available at launch, so purchases were at full price. Limited production appears to have played a role, as Samsung kept initial batches small for this new form factor.

The Galaxy Z TriFold stands out with its design that unfolds into a larger screen, closer to a tablet size when fully extended. It remains the only triple-fold phone available in the US market.

Samsung directs interested buyers to sign up for restock alerts on its site. Physical stores that carried it also reported quick sell-throughs.
